International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE)


ISPE, the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, is the Society of choice for nearly 23,000 pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals in 80 countries. ISPE aims to be the catalyst for "Engineering Pharmaceutical Innovation" by providing Members with opportunities to develop technical knowledge, exchange practical experience, and collaborate with global regulatory agencies. Founded in 1980, ISPE has worldwide headquarters in Tampa , Florida and a European office in Brussels, Belgium.

In addition to conducting educational conferences and training courses, ISPE also publishes a bi-monthly magazine, Pharmaceutical Engineering, and a monthly membership newsletter, ISPEAK, to keep Members abreast of the latest developments in pharmaceutical manufacturing and technology.

ISPE Members have worked with the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) on a variety of projects which have assisted professionals by enhancing industry practices worldwide. ISPE and FDA collaborations include the SUPAC equipment addendum listing for which both the agency and ISPE were awarded the Hammer Award by then-Vice President Al Gore's office, and the production of the BaselineŽ Pharmaceutical Engineering Guide Series. These guides offer industry professionals a foundation from which to work in interpreting regulatory requirements for facility design and process implementation.

The Singapore Affiliate was registered and launched in June 2000 and now has more than 250 Members and is still growing. It has welcomed more than 130 additional regional Members from countries such as the Philippines , Thailand , India , Malaysia and Indonesia all who have expressed a strong interest in supporting Affiliate activities.

 
 

Media Development Authority

Media has never been so exciting, challenging and important to Singapore . The Media Development Authority (MDA) has been created to focus on and develop the media industry, putting Singapore at the forefront of the media age. MDA is formed by the merger of the Singapore Broadcasting Authority, the Films and Publications Department, and the Singapore Film Commission, on 1 Jan 2003. The setting up of MDA is in response to the convergence of different media that requires a consistent approach in developing and managing the different forms of media.

Various initiatives, developments and standards for television, film, video, radio, publication and new media are handled by MDA. The organization makes its guidelines clear and consistent across all the media so as to create a pro-business environment.

MDA has a dual-function role that contributes to developing Singapore into a vibrant global media city as well as a creative economy and a connected society. The first is to promote the growth of the media industry. The second is to manage content to protect core values and safeguard consumers' interests.

The strategic thrusts of MDA are to:

  • develop a state-of-the-art Media City
  • position Singapore as a Media Exchange
  • export made-by-Singapore content
  • augment the media talent pool
  • foster a conducive regulatory environment and culture

 
 

PSA Exhibitions Pte Ltd

 


PSA Exhibitions Pte Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of PSA Corporation Ltd formed to organise exhibitions, conferences and seminars. PSA Exhibitions working closely with its industry partners has helped turn around several events to establish them as Singapore 's largest public shows in the field of automotives, Information Technology and retail furniture. In all its endeavours and through the increasing portfolio of trade and consumer shows, PSAE is committed to making each event relevant within the industry and to providing a catalyst for change and growth.

Asia Pacific Maritime (APM), the premier maritime event in Asia now jointly owned by Reed and PSA, is managed by Reed Exhibition Companies. In partnership with the maritime industry worldwide, both Reed and PSA strive to make APM a leading "must attend" industry event in the Asia Pacific.

 
 

Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau

 


The Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau (SECB) is a non-profit division of the Singapore Tourism Board.

It has three roles relating to the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry - that of industry development, business development and marketing.

Together, these 3 roles serve to maintain and strengthen Singapore 's position as a world-class MICE destination by:

  • stimulating interest in Singapore as a venue for meetings, conventions, exhibitions and incentive travel programme
  • presenting the advantages of, and the facilities for, staging meetings and special events in Singapore
  • promoting attendance of delegates and their companions in conventions and exhibitions scheduled to take place in Singapore
  • coordinating with convention officials to ensure the successful planning and staging of their meetings and events in Singapore

 
 

Singapore Tourism Board

 


The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is an economic development agency for one of Singapore 's key service sectors - tourism. The mission of the Board is to develop and champion tourism, so as to build the sector into a key driver of economic growth for Singapore.

With its strategic tourism units covering the key purposes of visit by tourists, the STB will work towards revitalising traditional segments ranging from sightseeing and attractions to business travel, as well as actively tap into emerging segments such as healthcare and education services.

These initiatives will be reinforced by STB's international operations which cover the key markets in Asia, Oceania, Europe and Americas , with expanded resources to capitalise on growth markets like China and India.

BTMICE
The Business Travel & MICE (Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions and Exhibitions) Group comprises the Strategic Development & Communications Division and the following Strategic Tourism Units (STUs) which were established to reflect the core purposes underlying most tourist arrivals: 

  • Strategic Clusters I & II Divisions
  • Industry Development Division
  • Business Events Services Division
The STUs are responsible for developing and attracting business events, creating exceptional experiences for Business & MICE visitors and establishing a vibrant Business & MICE environment with strong industry players, robust alliances and world class infrastructure.

Identified as a key area of growth for tourism, the mission of the Business Travel & MICE Group is to champion Singapore 's position as a premier Business & MICE destination and the Exchange Capital of Asia.
